Do you OFFER flavors?
Nope. We focus on making the best possible yogurt from the highest quality milk. You can put whatever you want on or in it! In the future, we will be offering yogurts made from other types of milk, such a sheeps’ milk, buffalo milk, and yak milk.
Why isn’t gymnos yogurt sweet?
You may find that even compared to unflavored supermarket brands, Gymnos Yogurt tastes less sweet, and indeed tastes more tart. This is because we ferment our yogurt for between 16 and 20 hours to ensure maximum tartness. Most brands ferment yogurt for just 6-12 hours. This also means Gymnos Yogurt has a lower lactose content than most yogurts: the longer the fermentation process goes on, the more lactose is converted into tart lactic acid.
WHY CAN’t I order online right now?
Capacity at Gymnos is currently not sufficient to meet demand. As a result there is a wait list for access to future batches of Gymnos Yogurt.
Do you make any dairy-Free Yogurt?
Nope.
Are there any additives oR preservatives?
Nope. We use no thickeners, added flavors, added sugar, nor preservatives. The yogurt is made from goats’ milk, cows’ milk, and yogurt cultures.
Why is the yogurt separating?
See above.Since we don’t add any thickeners or preservatives to our yogurt, it’s natural for the liquid whey to begin to separate from the yogurt over time. Just gently stir it back in (or pour the extra whey out if you’d like to thicken the yogurt some more).
How do you serve the yogurt?
To eat it straight, such as for breakfast or as a snack, topping with something sweet like honey or maple syrup will nicely complement the yogurt’s natural tartness. We also like to top with nuts. But Gymnos Yogurt is also ideally-suited for savory applications, such as in raita, tzatziki, or for saucing meats.
